Manor House Farm
Step back in time and relax at Manor House Farm - Where Time Stands Still
This is a truly unique house where time stands still. The main house dating from 1708 is built over the original house dating from the late 1500`s. The house and farm land have been in our family for the past 200 years. We have endeavored to keep the interior to maintain its early 18thc feel with period furniture and drapes. Experience the charm of the oak paneled dining room where breakfast is served or relax in the sitting room in front of a roaring log fire.

About Manor House Farm
Bed and breakfast accommodation
Our bedrooms all with four poster beds while offering individual charm have been furnished to a high standard. All our rooms are ensuite with either bath or shower and include Tv, wifi, and tea and coffee making also in the rooms.
We have added to the four poster theme by adding posts and drapes to two of the bathrooms giving you the chance to relax in a truly unique style.

The Gardens
The gardens offer the chance to both relax and explore.
Sporting arguably the largest stone table you are likely to see - (once part of the Municipal Baths in Lancaster). A summer house which started life on top of a hospital in Sheffield. This is a garden of great character. There is also an old railway truck used in farming days to store fertilizer which is also now a summer house. There is also a chance for a fun game of croquet on one of the terraced lawns or just steal away to read or relax on one of the many seats you will find. The garden stretches up to 4 acres offering plenty of space for all, also a chance to BBQ on a summer evening.

In the event of cancellation of your booking we would make every effort to relet the accommodation however we reserve the right to charge the full cost of the booking if the bed and breakfast or self catering cottage are not subsequently relet.

Manor House farm
Wow so glad I stumbled across Manor Farm when looking for a place to stay to attend a Gala night in Alton. The Gala was cancelled but we are SO glad we didn't cancel our weekend away! From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at peace with the world! It was like stepping back in time but with the comforts of modern life. Such a beautiful place, so much to see. Chris and Margaret are the perfect hosts. We left feeling we had known them much longer than a weekend. Both so friendly and welcoming into their beautiful unique home. Breakfast was lovely. We will most definitely go back to escape from the stresses of life!! Such a gem and just an hour up the road but a million miles away from the hussle and bussle of everyday.

A perfect relaxing getaway
What a truly amazing place to stay we had the most special time at Manor House Farm we couldn't recommend it enough. So relaxing, peaceful and beautiful we loved walking round the gardens, sitting by the fire in the evening and eating our delicious breakfast in the morning. Chris and Margaret were the loveliest hosts they couldn't do enough for us such nice people. We can't wait to visit again.

Another lovely stay
Chris and Margaret are such wonderful hosts. They look after you and are there if you want to chat or need advice but are never intrusive.
The whole house is like going back in time but with all the comforts of today. The gardens are so beautiful I want to stay there forever.
You will never have a breakfast like the one you get here. Everything is delicious and nothing is too much trouble.
It was our third time here and we brought our grandson who is 9 and he loved exploring the garden and loved the dogs.
We will be going back again.

Amazing place to stay.
We chose to stay here once for one of our regular trips to Alton Towers back in 2014, and we've never wanted to stay anywhere else since. It really says something about a B&B and the owners when staying here is genuinely something I look forward to more than visiting the theme park itself. From the moment you pull into the driveway the calmness and serenity of the place sweeps over you, only to be greeted by some of the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet. Chris and Margaret are both an absolute ray of sunshine, totally accommodating and welcoming to anyone and you really feel at home staying with them. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and cosy, with everything you need to feel totally at home.
We're always tempted to a lovely cooked breakfast and they're perfect every time. The breakfast room, just like the rest of the house, is beautifully furnished and it's always a treat to meet new people round the breakfast table and find out about what brings them there. Even with a nut allergy I feel totally comfortable eating breakfast here, something I rarely get without considerable fuss elsewhere.
We always leave wanting to immediately come back again and we always try to make sure it's not long until we do!

Comfortable farmhouse stay
We had an enjoyable 2 night stay at Chris and Margarets farmhouse which has been lovingly tended by the owners, whilst they are not tending their cows. The house has been in Chris's family since 1848 I believe and is a labour of love for him to furnish. Rooms are all individual and the Red Room was very comfortable. Wonky floors and bathroom doors all add to the character. Considering we were the only guests staying at the time breakfast was a lavish affair with full English cooked however you like and fruit/cereal options too. Chris was horrified that he did not have the requested sparkling water on the first day (no big deal honestly Chris) but some appeared for our 2nd day, thank you so much!! The weather was lousy and we did not get an opportunity to walk around the gardens which was a shame. Next time. Terrific value for money. Chris politely (and understandably) requested we stay two nights rather than just one and we were very glad we did.

An amazing place to stay
The house is just wonderfully historic and very warm and welcoming.
Hosts were lovely and friendly. The breakdfast was really nice and we had a fantastic stay. We had a lovely room and access to a very comforatble sittig room. Would highly reccomend it.

Wonderful retreat
When ever we need our batteries recharging we head for Chris and Margaret’s wonderful and charming B&B this time we spent a week in their keepers cottage with our two dogs, and our Daughter Son in-law and Grandson Stayed in the B&B, with a back problem I needed to rest and enjoy the peace while the dogs could stretch their legs in the superb garden,Chris and Margaret are such wonderful hosts making our stay so relaxed and comfortable the 5 Star awards and no words can do this place justice,We are booked to go back again in October and to say we are looking forward to another stay is an understatement thank you Chris & Margaret

One of surprise and joy.
What a lovely change and surprise, by chance to find myself wrapped up in the comfort of accommodation, history, antiques, freshly cooked breakfasts, food from the farm and a unexpected garden. Can’t wait to be back to my next visit to Denstone. Always a joy to find somewhere with its own character and charm and lovely hosts.

OLD ENGLAND AT ITS BEST
Wonderful stay in a traditional 17th Century Manor House, attention to detail was fantastic, nice facility of being able to sit by open fire, very Comfortable 4 poster bed, breakfasts are amazing, will definitely visit again.

Visit to alton towers.
As always fantastic time, brilliant rooms and coffee making facilities with the rooms plus ensuite facilities.
Homemade breakfast with tea, coffee, juice and cereals.
After days out you can relax in the lounge in front of an open fire.
Close to alton towers, bakewell village, chatsworth house. So if your thinking of were to stay I fully recommend as chris and Margaret make you feel very welcome.
