I need to point out that if you are tall some of our doorways and ceilings are on the low side.Which adds to the character except when you bang your head.!
Nestling in the peaceful backwaters of Prestwood (total population less than 30), with dramatic views of the Weaver Hills,
this 18th century cottage has recently been renovated in a way that attempts to avoid the pitfalls that affect most conversions.
If you would like an oak panelled bedroom with an original four poster bed, exposed stone walls, genuine oak and pine doors
and antique furniture throughout, while still containing all the modern quality appliances you would expect. Then this is the place for you.
The most noise you are likely to encounter is from the local sheep or our small herd of Traditional Hereford cattle (One of the UK`s rare breeds)
which you will find in the field next to the large garden. If relaxation is the name of the game, then Keeper's Cottage is for you.
The cottage is suitable for couples or family holidays, with Alton Towers just 3 miles away, Dovedale a mere 8 miles and the
stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon and Sudbury all within easy reach. The potteries with their factory shops are only 25 minutes away.
The Cottage has a fabulous atmosphere, with a log burning stove for those cooler evenings
Ground floor accommodation includes an entrance hall, kitchen, living room and oak panelled bedroom with four poster bed and adjacent shower/W.C room. The upper level is reached by a small twisting stone stairway leading to a twin/double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The large garden has an arboured patio, and room to enjoy BBQ’s. In the main House garden there the chance to play a fun game of grass tennis or croquet. Parking is outside the property at the end of your private drive.
Tariff: £300-£525 per week according to season. Short breaks also available low season. Linen and towels are included.
Breakfast can sometimes be available when not fully booked in the Manor House Farm Bed and Breakfast where the bacon, sausage and eggs all come from our own farm.
